More Questions re: fan resistor
 

Thanks for response on fan resistor. I get idea that there are two of them from replies. But, WHERE are they? I have looked high and low and my Haynes manual doesn't even mention them. Appears to be some sort of two-pronged plung in ceramic device but being a mechanical nitwit, I can't find them. I have a 1985.5 944 na. Thanks

On cars without dual airbags the resistors are located right behind the glove box...you don't need to remove it if you can crawl into the passenger footwell upside down. On cars with dual airbags the airbag computer took the mounting place of the cooling fan resistors so they were moved to the other side of the firewall right next to the climate control box. Each resistor is held in with a single philips screw.
