Lart951 on RL was rebuilding those, may want to get in touch with him. Another option is to DIY and use Aeroquip hose and fittings.

If you have a hose company near by, may be able to have them do it by reusing the old fittings and crimping a new hose on.

Lucky find! That is a fire waiting to happen.

Good time to replace all the engine bay fuel lines.

As TD mentioned, you get the set from Lart's Performance Parts. I will forward this thread to him so he can contact you.

If I remember right, forum member BoxterGT was remaking the fuel jumper line for ~$50 if you send him your bad line. You might want to contact him if you want a reasonable priced part.

Follow this post down, you can see a photo of his handywork -

On the other hand, it's a fuel line. $100 to keep your car from catching on fire isn't outrageous.

$100 for a six inch piece of fuel line is ridiculous. IMO. i am taking it to EVCO house of hose and let them rebuild it. i've used their services before and their work was top notch.

This is a (the only?) Porsche safety bulletin (recall?) item. You can Google for more info.... hmmm... if they give you one for free, let us know!

Otherwise, better call Boxter GT

not sure when it was recalled, but the part on my car appears to be stamped with a date, 2 09 89. it is also my understanding that the porsche dealer has to put it on and i don't have time for them to do it. AND they have told me that they don't have anyone qualified to work on my car.... i nearly fell out of my chair.

Spend the money, buy an oem quality line.....
That is a high pressure fuel line which when fails pours fuel on the headers. .... Why even risk it? What's your car worth to you?

I won't let a car leave my shop if that or the other fuel lines are that questionable.....

i am sure that evco builds it to oem specs or better. just saying. it is high pressure line and swaged fittings. it's not rocket science.

You dodged the bullet for sure.

When I need fuel lines or hydraulic lines, I go to Williams Oil Filter Service Company, here in Tacoma. They're an industrial hose/oil filter company. Most of the people you see buying stuff there are driving semi trucks. Williams Oil Filter Service Co- Home

I take them the original hoses and using the existing metal fittings, they make me a new hose - which meets or is better than OEM spec. As an example, they made me new power steering hoses for my 951 for just a little more than $100 - that sell on Pelican for $286 (the pump to rack and return line). They fit perfectly and after nearly three years, they are still leak free.

I've had them make a set of fuel lines but I don't remember what it cost - the same exact blue line that Rennbay uses. I do recall it was ridiculously low. Basically they charge for the cost of the hose and a small fabrication fee. The only time I had a larger fab fee was when I had them making a fitting for an air compressor - they had to bend a metal line in a certain way.

But if they're just taking your fittings and putting them on new hose, it's really cheap. And they make them while you wait!

What I've done is cut off all the metal wrapper and rubber hose parts and re-used the end-fittings. Get similar ID fuel-hose and hose-clamps.

this is what i was thinking of doing. however, i couldn't think of a good way to cut the swaged metal off of the fittings. are the fittings barbed?
