Help identifying and fixing hatch leak
Ok here's the scoop:
My car doesnt have a sunroof Not leaking at the hatch pins/receivers (90% sure on this) It looks like at the leak location, the hatch isnt "square" on the seal like it is on the other side Pin for the wiper motor protrudes, could this be deforming the seal enough to let water in? (this is my current theory) Hatch seal is new Hatch frame looks very solid, a little delaminationl on the top, but it looks brand new on the sides, so i don't think its letting water in. What do you guys think? My next experiment is to grind down part of the wiper motor pin to see if that is what is causing the leak. Thanks! https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.n...7ed4e1b051e4fa |
I crawled inside to find exhaust leaks. Maybe have someone squirt it with a hose, too, while you are in there.

Another thing to check anyways: is the tubing attached to the water outket on the hatch pin assembly on the car, and directed out of the car?

So what i need to do is try shifting the hatch one way? What is the best way to do this? Do I keep the hatch closed and adjust it from the inside by loosening the receivers? |
My technique: remove struts, hatch pins. Loosen bolts between hinges and body. Let the hatch sit how it wants to in the seal. Tighten hinge bolts, reinstall and adjust pins.
Good time for Only944 pin receiver fix, too. |

Here is what I am talking about: https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3856/...b9f551a6_b.jpg where the other side is evenly around the outside. |
