Brake fluid reservoir cap leads
before I break something - how should the leads for the brake fluid reservoir cap terminals be removed - just pull pull pull until POP they're off, or is there some way to squeeze them? Mine are stuck on pretty good.

They just pull off. Pull the plastic, not the wire.

thanks, it worked - I used a stiff putty knife and gently rotated, worked.
follow up question: can the terminals be pulled out w/o damage? Mine have obvious green copper corrosion inside the plastic area. Follow up to that : can the tiny mechanism inside be cleaned out?... should moving the float up/down make a lamp turn on/off on the instrument panel? yes, I know Pelican has a $40 cap for sale - but I didn't know until looking there's a $10 cap that lacks the float mechanism - pretty cool. third follow up : any suggestions how to clean the pinch type terminals on the lead? a thin wire pipe cleaner? where do I get that?

Update
The terminals come out but it takes some firm tugging. The rubber septum is held down by a plastic ring - the ring has to come out first. I can't tell if the float can come out. I took pics if anyone wants to see.
