87 944 Garage Queen on eBay

no affiliation, but always enjoy looking at a very clean original car. Looks great. Price is a little high though, and you can't really drive this thing. Any value it one day might have will diminish with every roll of the wheels...

Porsche 944 Coupe | eBay

I'd rather have a high(er) milage restored or survivor car I could actually allow myself to drive...

I'm sceptical, it just doesn't look like a 6k car, maybe a 60k car. I may be wrong, I owned a new one and I've recently seen a 30k car and it looked in better shape than this one. Were the calipers and brake shields painted silver in 87? Why is the zinc coating in the engine bay a different color on each part? The rubber j-boot doesn't look like 6k miles and the aluminum in the engine bay looks oxidized.

IMO the best "collector" NA is probably the first (82) Euro spec model, if it was one of those it would probably be worth the money to a collector, otherwise no.

Are you saying it might be a fake? The engine bay looks worse than the one in my 944 IMO. What's up with the writing in his ad.. it's crazy

That has got to be the most difficult to read ebay listing I've ever seen. Complete waste of time.

The pics were nice though.

It's either a fake or it's been sat in a moist place for a long time. Basically if it wasn't taken care off I can see all that oxidization forming on the aluminum parts and the zinc plating discoloring in places like it has. It definately wasn't kept in a humidity controlled garage. If that's the case I would suspect all the seals, bearings and bushes. I wouldnt rate it a car suitable for a collector, it's just not that clean where it matters. Bodywork and interior look nice, but then my well looked after 137k mile na has just as good body and interior...and my engine bay looks cleaner...and my maintenance is up to date...and my suspension is new... Just saying.

Interior looks correct for the miles but the engine compartment is worse than my 50k miles NA. I agree that it has been stored somewhere damp.

the part that cracks me up is that this is billed as "the affordable sportscar" but starts at $20K...
hmmm.
