Glovebox not latching

So after 8 months of deployment my 944 still runs and drives (magically) had to get a new battery halfway through and took some pedal to get it started but it runs. I came home to find the glovebox was hanging down unlatched. ??? Any ideas? I feel like this is from someone tampering with the glove box but I don't see how or why. Could the latch just randomly fail like that? If I push the glovebox door back up it doesn't click in.

Welcome back!!
Do you have a pic of the issue?

Hi,check the plastic latch on glove box door. It could be broken or need adjusting. Also check the the lock, see that the pins are spinging out. I had the opposite problem. It wouldn't open. Hope this was helpfulhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1413426337.jpg

I have a picture on my phone but it just looks like a glovebox honestly. The little prongs do spring out if I push them in! Do you adjust the latch with a screwdriver like you're using?

Yes,you can turn that screw in either direction & you'll see it adjust up or down

Thanks all! The 944 needs some work to get her in great shape... all that time sitting wasn't very kind. I'll try that adjustment

CHICKS 10-16-2014 02:26 AM

Yep, just adjust. If it isn't right they'll just pop open.
