Calling all NC/SC 924/944/968s

I recently moved to Charlotte from Athens, GA. I always had a great time at all of the meets Elliott (drift a 944) has had around Atlanta so I would like to get something similar (albeit smaller) started up here.

I've created a facebook group. Tell your friends! As it grows it'll be a great place to post pictures/updates on your car as well as buy and sell parts locally.

I'm looking to set up a meet around Charlotte sometime in the next few months before it gets too cold. Once I get a date and location set I'll let everyone know.

Lastly, I'd like to create an email list of 924/944/968 owners in NC and SC so I can contact everyone directly about upcoming meets and events. If you would like to be added to the list, either post here or PM me with your Name, Email, Car, and Location. I'll contact everyone as soon as I iron out the details.

I'm putting together a Parkway cruise for October 19th. Everyone is welcome to join, so it doesn't matter if you have a 944 or not. We will meet up in Asheville around noon and head south on the parkway until we end up in Waynesville. This is roughly a 50 mile trip. We will be stopping along the way to have lunch and take pictures.

Here is a small update:



We will be meeting up beside the Belk at Biltmore Square Mall in Asheville October 19th at noon. We will be taking the Blue Ridge Parkway South for 50 miles, stopping to take pictures and to chat along the way. Also, we will be stopping for a picnic lunch, so bring a cooler packed with your favorite snacks. Be sure to bring a jacket or dress for cold weather; as we will be reaching elevations of 6000ft.

Once in Waynesville, Interstate 40 is easily accessed for your return home.




For those of you driving in from the east, some of us will be meeting up across from the Denny's at Cleveland Mall in Shelby, NC around 10AM.

From there, we will be traveling up the scenic route. This will take us up hwy 64 through Lake Lure for a quick Mountain run before the event. If you have never been through here before, you are in for a real treat.

Wow, I have no idea what I was typing.

I was trying to say that I may bring a friend that has a 951 that is not road worthy yet. He may end up driving his miata and I have another friend that may want to come with a highly modified TT 300 ZX.

this fogbow at sundown just this past Monday on blue ridge coming down off from Pisgah looking east...pavement is bad from Cherokee to Soco but the tunnels make it worth it. the colors where starting about 5500-6000 feet so don't forget your cameras and a rain coat.

Not a frequent poster here, but interested in getting to know others in the area. I adopted an '88 924S (inop) about a year ago. Have it running and am enjoying driving it. I'm up in Mooresville, so not far from Charlotte.

I'll check out my schedule and see if I can join in. Will let you know.

Breakfast is at nine and we are leaving at ten. So far, there has been only one person that was interested in meeting for breakfast and his car is now sitting at my shop with a blown trans, so I will probably just be there at ten as well.

Everything is in order on my car. Since the weather was great today, I went on a 250 mile drive. So far the weather is looking good for next weekend. I can't wait!
