Where is the cycling valve located? (Picture)

Hi!

After reading about overboost problems on the board, I think that a bad cycling valve could be the source of my problems. The only problem is that I don't know what it is exactly and where it is located. Here is a picture of where I should look for it... Could somebody explain me or edit the picture and upload it back in order to show where it is located and what to look for in order to know if it's broken or not working properly?

Thanks alot guys... And sorry for my bad english.

hi,

The cyclic valve is located under the intake manifold. It is closer to the firewall than to the front of the engine. With overboost there are a few things to check. One thing is the hose that is connected to the top of the wastegate, this hose runs from the wastegate to the cyclic valve. If there is a hole in this hose the cyclic valve cannot control the boost. Also, there is a hose that runs from the intercooler ducting to the cyclic valve. I put an arrow in the attached picture pointing at it. The metal line connected to the hose that goes under the intake manifold runs to the cyclic valve. Make sure the hose does not have any holes in it. If you do remove the intake manifold to see the cyclic valve, it brown plastic with three hoses connected to it. It should be mounted to a metal plate. Check the electrical connection to the cyclic valve. This should start you off, let me know if you have any more questions.

The cyclic valve is pretty hard to get to. You can't see it on the picture you (Yan) included. The valve is located, almost against the firewa, so at the end of the engine bay when you stand in front of the car. That's the main reason why it's a bit of * to get to. Besides that it's right in the middle just below the last pipe of the intake manifold. I once changed the controller hose from the valve to the wastegate... uhm.. a pretty time consuming job as i had to fiddle my way down there. Though, you can see the valve pretty easy. It's black, round, three ports, and an electric connection to it. Have fun with it!
