Two unrelated issues (wiper spray and clock light)
 

1. My driver side wiper spray no longer 'sprays'. It did sputter/dribble very little amounts but these days nothing comes out. My passenger side wiper spray works fine, BTW. What can I do to fix and/or what do I need to get if replacement is likely?
2. My digital clock once lit up but now it doesn't. It still shows the time but the light is weak, very weak. What can I do to diagnos/fix?

Get a large sewing needle and clean out the nozzle in the squirter.

Have to check on the clock light.

Timmer, my nozzle also suffered the same with you. I suspect the valve of the failed nozzle is malfunctioned.

Hi,

In the back of the clock there is a small light bulb that provides the backlight. The light is most likely burned out. I replaced mine, but I had to buy the bulb from Porsche. If you remove the clock, which is not too hard, you can pull the bulb out from the back.

pelican has the bulbs too - same ones that go in the back of the instrument cluster of the later 944's. - something like $2.50 each.

Look at the washer hose on the drivers side - if it has air in it, your check valve is probably shot ($5.00 here at pelican).

Alright, I pulled the narrow, hard plastic strip that holds the hazard, clock, and lighter in place
and removed the lighter light and FINALLY got the clock light bulb & holder out and swapped but upon insertion back into the slot and turned 90 degrees, the light didn't work. I am thinking about having to get a new bulb holder but where can I get one?

Also, when the above didn't work, I simply put the bulb back into the lighter and fed the wire/bulb into the clock hole and that illuminated the clock but upon putting the thin/long/black strip back into place, I think I broke off the retainer clips that hold the hazard button/light to the strip. My question is where can I find a new black plastic strip/trim?

Most all used trim strips you can find have the retaining clips broken off. Go get a hot glue gun and "weld" the switch into place.

Ok, so I went to PepBoyz and got 2 bulbs for $1.99 and inserted one of them into the cigarette lighter holder and it worked. I tried the other bulb into the clock light holder and turned 90° in its socked and guess what??? no light.

bummer. I think it's the bulb holder and the two metal strips that is having a touble making a
good metal-to-metal connection. So, in the meantime, I took the cigarette lighter light connection cable and stuffed it into the hole to illuminate the clock and so far so good....but am worried that the bulb being lit might start to melt some of the plastic in the clock since the bulb is just shoved in there. Should I be concerned?

Nope, did the same thing to mine. THe clocks for some reason are touchy and far too expensive to be worth replacing over a burned out bulb.

AFJurat, So are you saying that I should un-do what I did (shove the light bulb through the opening for the clock)?

Nope, I'm saying it works, leave it that way - the clocks are $300 to replace - too expensive to replace because a bulb socket doesn't work.
