1983 NA 944 Exhaust

Looking at a new exhaust system. I hear a lot of rattling in the cat. The pipes look fine. Any suggestions on a good exhaust system for the 1983 NA 944? I would like to stay with the factory specs to keep it original.

see if you can find a good used one with an intact cat. IIRC, they are all stainless steel, so they usually stay in pretty good shape. another idea would be to get an aftermarket cat, from magnaflow or some such, and replace the catalytic converter.

They are both OK, Dansk around $375 has better tone, quieter and oem tip. See pix below on 87 customer vehicle.

Likely a broken heat shield on the cat, or the internal biscuits are junk.
Just replace the cat - should cost about $200 depending where you live.

There's nothing to be gained with another exhaust system on the 944 without other work done.

Find a local Pelican member with a stock exhaust who will give this to you.

I have (4) or (5) complete ones you could pick from for free, but am too far. The shipping cost is too high.

A friend from Newark, DE is picking up a 356 from me in a week. I am sure he could bring one back with him if you don't mind a drive to get it.

edit: Oooops, looks like its too far, over 200 mi.

Great offers and help. Much appreciated. Sure, if someone is close, I'd come pick one up if they did not need it. Otherwise, it looks like the Dansk that Pelican has is around $350 or so.
