1987 944s Cold Start / Performance Chip

I bought a 1987 Porsche 944s last spring. Since I bought it, it will not stay running until its been warmed up. I was told that is because of the chip that is installed in it. Could that be true? Or, the DME is bad? I have been thinking about pulling the chip to see what kind it is and looking at the solder joints of the DME.. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

What are a good, safe, and recommended performance chip?

Cheers!

I wonder if the prior owner "deleted" the idle air controller. It's one of those "performance modifications."

I have a Wilks race chip in my 85.5, and it starts and runs well in below freezing temps, however the PS pump howls a small bit when cold.

horsman F3:

Recommend replacing Oxygen sensor O2 and adding a Fuel Treatment (Chevron Techtron).
Remember your need 93 Octane or it will never run properly. Later...

Why no oxygen sensor? The DME is adaptive and needs it. Suspect defective sensor...later...

If you referring to my 93 Non Oxy comment, Im referring to the fuel I run in it. Its 93 Octane Non-Oxygenated gas.
