Porsche Crest 83 cloud of smoke help!

Hello guys
I recent got my 83' automatic 944 running after a another 944 engine swap, problem is when I run the car a cloud of white smoke comes out of the auto shifter, what could cause this? And how can I fix it? If I were to guess it is a transmission or power steering line that is leaking onto the cat if I were to guess, any ideas?

white smoke

Is the smoke in the engine bay as well? If it is, then I'd suggest cooling the engine off and getting under the car and looking for wet spots around the power steering hoses below the engine and from the reservoir to the pump. Is the fluid dripping on the exhaust manifold, pipes or collector? Are your brakes and fluid ok?

Oh no it's not from the engine and there is no leaking anything from anywhere the smoke only comes from the interior making me think the leak is a line of something above the cat

Are you loosing coolant? A failing heater hose at the rear of the engine will drip coolant in and around the bell housing and it turns to white smoke when it hits the exhaust. It's possible the smoke is getting into the car through the shifter. Worth checking first as it's an easy fix. Telltale sign is the smoke will smell "sweet".

An automatic with a flex disc is even more important to get it fixed & cleaned up pronto if it is a coolant leak or a transmission ATF cooler line to/from radiator . The center on the disc gotta stay dry as those kinda fluids will "eat away" at the rubber & it will fail. Now ya gotta lot of work to do.
