OT Really bad day...
Today was the 2nd worst day of my life, second only to when I crashed my car last August.
After waking up with a 101 temperature this morning, i went to a long day of classes. Then i got on the T to go to work at Brookstone (i can't call in, i'm a manager. there'd be no one to cover the shift if i called in)... so i get there and find out there's a major loss prevention investigation happening at the store.... Well the major thing I personally did wrong was accidentially leave the back door unlocked one night last week. That is a major no no... but the reason the store is under investigation because it was found out that these two Sales Associates there were getting discounts on items (and flat-out stealing stuff) and giving it out to their friends that work at other stores in the mall... and i am a manager, so i wrang up a lot of their discount purchases, thinking they are just regular discounts... i didnt know they were working out deals with kids from other stores to get free merchandise. one of the kids has a friend at Starbucks, and the kid would steal stuff from the store and give it to his friend in exchange for free coffee... and since i accepted the free coffee, i'm technically an accomplice. So I am accused by Brookstone Loss Prevention for accepting stolen merchandise... coffee, for Christ's sake. I knew it was free, I didnt really think of it as stolen... maybe i'm naive. i just thought the guy was being nice... so two employees are fired outright, and me and the other store manager are suspended until they make a decision on whether to fire me or not. I don't get it. I work 45 hours per week at that damned store ON TOP of going to college full-time. I work my ass off at that place for not that much money, and this is what I get for my trouble? There's a chance that I still may have my job, but I think I am going to tell them to shove it. I still have my dignity. On the plus side, now I can go home for Christmas vacation! So... can anyone in the Boston area hook me up with a job? I would love to work with Porsches...

First: DON'T QUIT!!!
Second: IF they fire you get one of my favorite people; a cut throat lawyer. If the business practices you were subject to are not clearly defined in the handbook then you have a chance at breaking even and keeping your job. That is if you still want to work there. If they are clearly defined and you broke them without malice then you still might want to get that lawyer.

Hey CJ, I know how that trash goes. I worked at a restaraunt as a manger for 2 years. In the end, I was fired, basically, for doing my job. The owner's daughter was working there in the summer while she was out of school. She wasn't a manager or anything, but as the owner's daughter, she had a little more authority than the regular person. She let that fact help her to develop a little attitude about her. Well, after she did something blatantly wrong, and I put her in her place, she told her mommy a whole different story and got me fired. It was a load of crap, but hey, what can you do? It was for the best, the job I work now pays more than twice as much.

I know SoCal is probably right but it would be prety nice to say,... "GO **** YOURSELVES!!!". I use to get pushed around alot but hard work pays off. I now hold more weight then any other with my title.

Well the fact of the matter is I dont want to work there anymore. I was thinking about finding a better-paying job anyhow.
