Thinking about replacing my 87 944S with a DIFFERENT 944S

Anybody who has read any of my previous posts knows how much I really love my 1987 944S, despite (or because of) the odd eccentricity it has. When I bought it a few years ago, after losing my 1988 924S in an unfortunate accident, I had a hard time finding the color / model / accessories / price combination I was looking for so I settled for my 87 with the intention of retrofitting some things that didn't come with it, like a cruise control, some interior bits, etc. and repairing a couple of minor things, like the fiberglass front spoiler that picked up a crack from scraping a curb at some point.

Due to some work commitments and a couple of health issues I've had to deal with, I just don't have the time to do the things that need doing. I've thought about outsourcing the work but everyone around here I've approached want far more money than I can really justify for it. It makes better sense financially and for the continued life of the car to either trade it with a bit of cash to someone for another S, S2 or even possibly a 968 that's pretty much already sorted. It's either that or just keep it the way it is and hope somebody takes pity on me by convincing the CAR S.O.S. guys to make a trip to the US and fix it up for me. :D

I can take care of pre-existing little issues as I go but not time consuming mechanical or body issues (this is starting to sound like my last doctor's visit). Alternatively, I suppose I can sell my '87 S to a good home and look for something to buy for cash but as this is and the replacement will be my daily driver, I can't afford to be between vehicles for more than a few days so that's going to require some multilevel negotiating & scheduling if things go that way.

Ideally, I'd like the same color combos, the dark blue with either linen cloth or tan leather interior. The cruise control is a must because I really do have a need for that but I'll take the rest of the power accessories package (power doors, windows, mirrors, seats, etc.) if someone insists. LOL

So, I am throwing this situation out there to all of you in hopes of wisdom, options, ideas, leads or anything else that can be shared to help get something done. As always, many thanks in advance.

Ken
