JUST FOR FUN: Which 924 / 944 / 968 body style looks best?
I posted one of these in the 911 forum a few years ago. It was kinda fun to see how everyone voted. I'm sure I've missed a few body styles/models, but I think there's a pretty good representation here. Personally, I've always loved the 951/S2 body... but lately, I've gravitated to the 924S/931 narrow-fendered cars.

tough call. i don't like any of the hatchbacks. in the convertible, i like the back of the 968, but the front of the 951, until the lights go up, and then it's the 968

944 Turbo / S2
Not only do I think they are the best looking of the series, but the 944 turbo is one of the best looking cars in general! ![]()

You need early 944. Cookie cutters and no side molding...

Sorry, you're all wrong. It's gotta be the GT/GTS
![]() But I do also love the narrow body 924, especially the 931 with the vented badge panel, NACA duct, and trim little hatch spoiler. In Euro-spec trim, of course. Proof:

A guards red 951 on 16" Fuchs with matte black stone chip guards is my personal preference
![]() My '83 944 is pretty close visually- just need a 951/S2 nose. Maybe in a few years... the US NA nose has kind of grown on me :| ![]() ![]() |

I voted for the 924S.
The muscular 944 is very good looking, but the 924S is clean and simple. I think they are often under appreciated. Also, it's the only 924 you can easily drop a 951 engine in... and while it might not be as cool as Ideola's Carrera GT, you'll still have a rocket! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

924S in Euro trim, without those ugly front and rear US bumpers, and on its original phonedials.

The 944's wider wheel arches remind me of the 80s 'no-no-notorious' shoulder-pad fashion faux pas that ruined all my memories of what was a so-so-decade to begin with. I'll take the 924s, Bob.

In my opinion, the Turbo front end look is the best, but I wish we got the RoW spoiler from the S2 or 968 style spoiler on them. Would love to have one.

And, if you can't afford the real deal like Ideola's car, you can make your own! Here's my stripped down 931-based track-day CGT clone after cleaning and buffing it yesterday:

One of each please ...
I tend to like the classic look a bit more but in the end all have their charm If i could choose it would be 924 Carrera GT 944 85.5 931 ...in that order This is my style ![]() ![]() ![]()

Carrera GT for the win. The hood scoop and vented nose panel are bad ass and the rear fender flares look better than the 944/951/968 rear fenders.

They're all beautiful in their own way really, but I ultimately voted for the 924S. As previously mentioned, it's simple and clean. Here's my proof. And yeah... I originally liked the Euro bumpers too, but now I prefer the RoWs. The Euros just look odd to me now.
