S and S2 port matching

I am considering swapping the intake on my 87 S motor over to an S2 intake. I wonder if the ports match? Also if there is any downside to the swap?

Still considering aforementioned swap. Does it flow cleanly? Flash, where are you?

The ports match. There are only gains as far as I know. I have all the parts for the conversion if interested.

The S2 intake has different resonant peaks than the S intake, While that will change the feel on the butt dyno, i have yet to see anyone actually dyno the swap to see if there any gains. Porsche did a lot of expensive tricks on the S that the S2 didn't need (and didn't get) because of its increased displacement. The magnesium S intake generates a lot of air velocity that the S2 most likely won't replicate and the S DME is tuned for the S intakes resonances (something that was observed when using my 944S for MAF testing).. i don't think the S2 intake is worth the hassle on the S, as it looks like intake air velocity is lost. The S2 got a nice ram-air effect at speed from the turbo nose and front Airbox, the S got its velocity from the length of the runners in the plenum. The NA body doesn't get this effect and as such the S2 intake on an S doesn't get the advantage. The S intake was hella expensive for porsche to make and was an easy cost reduction target for the S2.

I'd love to see someone actually dyno this swap though, even if i'm wrong.
