Rear cargo area dimensions.

hey just wondering if anyone has the rear hatch area dimensions for an early 944.
Specifically height from floor to top of rear seat width between wheel arches and depth from seat to gate? I'm trying to make a speaker box to fit back there with extra curries for my tool kit abd a first aid kit. Cars in stoarge for the winter and I can't get down to it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I don't think there is any difference in the interior dimensions of an early car to a late car, as long it doesn't involve the dash. My 85.5 (later style) 944 is 36" between the carpeted strut towers, and 36" between the rear seat and the carpeted tail light panel. Not sure floor to top of seat dimension, I currently have the rear seat out of the car after applying dynamat over every inch of interior (under the carpet, seats, and over the trans tunnel). I plan to put a flat speaker panel across where the rear seat was using the butt buckets in the seat well for speaker areas.

Here are the measurements. All but the height of the seat were taken with carpet in place. The seat height is from the trunk floor without carpet or sound deadening.

These measurements are on the tighter side (not a lot of play) and in inches.

Seat height - 10.5 to the stitching. Measured vertically 90 degrees from the floor.

From the seat to the carpeting in the rear - 37 (from the base of the seat)

From the rear latch to the top of the seat - 33.75

Bottom of the seat to the spare tire hump - 28.5

Width between the wheel wells - 41 (with the gas filler tunnel reducing it to 36 inches where that protrudes).

Let me know if you need any other dimensions or need them without carpeting. Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot everyone I think I should be able to make it work off these measurements. I was hoping for a little more than 10.5 high but I should be able to get the space I need by adjusting the front angle of my box. Once I finish the blueprints I'll upload them here as it stands I think it'll take up 17.5 inches of forward space to the longest part. Then taper back from there.
