Flywheel Pin Orientation - Why? And Which Pin?

Got the old RMS out and the new one installed, and the flywheel is back on.

Haynes and Clarks mention that the pin on the flywheel must be pointing straight down prior to installing the clutch disc and pressure plate.

Well, there are three pins on the flywheel - two fairly close together near the front of the circumference, and one near the back of the circumference.

Which flywheel pin do I use? And once the correct pin faces down - is there a "proper" axial orientation for the disc and pressure plate to go back on relative to this pin? I'll be using the alignment tool - but it looks like this is just for making sure things are centered and the splines line up - and not for general axial orientation.

My engine is out of the car - and maybe the deal with the flywheel pin facing down only applies to engines that are still installed...to ensure TDC?

So I'm scratching my head on this. Any Sage Advice? Thanks!

....when i had mine out, i think there was only one way it'd go back in and have all the flywheel holes still line up.

I didn't think to look to see if the p.p. only goes onto the flywheel one way when I removed it, nor did I think to make my own orientation marks. So, Krystar, I hope you're right! Will tackle this tomorrow.

The 3 FW pins are in the down- bottom of flywheel, position, so that when you install the bell housing, the Sensor bracket and sensors you do not damage the pins or the sensors.

I was wondering the same thing, about whether there is a fixed pressure plate angular orientation required?
