have an 87 944. The space in the front door panels for speaker upgrades is woefully inadequate.
Someone is selling 968 10 speaker option door panels that are black and tan colored. My question.. can I dye the tan parts black to match my interior? Is this expensive? Is this something I can do myself? Anyone know of a dye that would match my factory black color fairly closely? Thanks Ross T 87 944S/968 conversion "Summer Yellow" |

I dont know if they will fit on the 944 door or not but i know that vinyl paint works great. You can get it at advanced or auto zone in gloss or flat black and it works great on dashed and door panels that have the kind of flexible rubber/vinyl covering, i used it on my saab 900 turbo door panels, my friend used it on his whole dash and a pillars on his honda civic. Just go there and ask them for some flexible vinyl paint.

Good idea Roastin'. I will check it out. I want to be sure i do not end up with something too glossy though.

Hi there. I have dyed almost all of my interior using black vinyl spray that i picked up at Ace Hardware. The maker is KRYLON and the name is 'Revitalizing Vinyl Spray".
The results are incredible. My lower dash and door panels and arms rests and door carpet, were either burned from the sun or dirty. This magic paint covered it all...Imagine even the carpet on the door. I can post some pictures later today, when I get home.. ![]()

Hi Ross, I got home after dark, so I will take some digital pics tomorrow.
I tried to attach one that I had here but it was to large a file. When I reduced it, I lost quality..Tomorrow, bro.
