Dash Width Question
 

Does anyone know if an 85 944 dash is narrower (door to door) than an 86 dash? Got a cover for my 86 and it's about 2" too long. It was marked for an 85.5-91. Not sure if they sent the wrong one or if I'm actually dealing an 85 944.

The dash changed halfway through 1985 (hence the 1985.5 reference).

If you had an early dash, you would know.

All early dashes are identical in terms of measurements, and all late dashes are identical in terms of measurements. The early and late dashes are so significantly different that you would immediately notice if they sent you the wrong cover as a width difference would be the least of the issues you faced.

Thanks, that clears that up. I guess I'll have to call them tomorrow to see why the cover they sent is too long.
