Coolant gauge not working

Hi ya'll,

I've been restoring a 1983 944 as a summer project and I've run into a few problems. I mended most of them with a little help from clark's garage and you guys ;)

Right now im trying to restore my gauges to working condition and im stuck on the coolant gauge. It doesnt seem to work at all, doesnt move at all. What could be causing the issue? Clark's garage suggests that it might be a bad water coolant sensor. Is there anything else i should be testing? Is there any way to test the gauge itself? Did anyone else have a similar problem?

Clarksville has a procedure for checking the gauge. It requires a variable resistor. I read somewhere a 50 ohm resistor will make the gauge move halfway.

When mine wasn't working I replaced the wore that goes from the dme to the single pole temp sensor under the intake. And replaced the grounds on my gauges. Specifically the two wire ground in the circle plug in the back of the far left gauge.
