Dashboard backdate

Hi, I have been looking for a good 924 turbo for a Carrera Gts build and have not been able to find a good candidate so far. The idea of a backdate on a 944 turbo is slowly growing. At the end it probably wouldn't be a lot more expensive.
I love to vintage look of the 924 dashboard vs the 944. As anyone tried to adapt an early s1/924 dash on a 944?

the 1982-1985 944 had the same dashboard as the 924.
because of the AC system differences it'd be easier to put the turbo stuff into the 82-85 944

unless you're not using the AC/heater in which case the dash will fit just fine in a 951.

Why not use a 924S and swap in a 951 driveline?

a 951 conversion to a 924 Carrera GT has been done before. A Norwegian man built one for his wife. it was a yellow 951 and there was a sideshow of the build on youtube (which I can't find).
I don't think he backdated the dash.

I have a late dash for sale if you need one to cannibalize, otherwise you'll need to find a way to create and match up a good portion of the mounting points. On the early dash they are pretty straightforward. The hardest part is getting the HVAC I think, unless you're deleting the center console.
