Digital Dash Clock Testing

My great mechanic in West Seattle (aswest.net) gave me a dash clock to replace my broken one. He has no idea if it still works. What's the easiest way to test it? Thanks!

Put it in the car... It's pretty easy. You could get a 12V battery and test it with leads.

Does jürgen test one after he replaces the display? I am cut off u-tube on this machine.

I would think twice about this. When I tried this I ended up cracking all of the plastic trim pieces trying to remove the old clock. It isn't worth it in my opinion.

just to see if it works - hook 2 wires to terminals on back and tape those to cars battery - make sure you get pos and neg right - should know I a minute if it works

Search jurgens video....he recommends heating the dash plastic a bit with a hair dryer so it doesn't crack.

heating might be a good idea. Just be carefull, take your time. Make sure you undo all the screws first. And gently try from different angles and places. Don't pull hard on one end of any of the pieces. The AC control unit clear plastic is often very brittle, so is the trim around the AC unit.

Plastic tools designed for opening phone cases work very well for this.

Thanks for all the tips. I really appreciate them!
