I'm vibrating..

When I rev to 4000 in first then shift to 2nd I start to notice a (rubbery) vibration as I approach 4000 again, when I make the shift to 3rd.. it becomes a strong vibration I have to dump into 4th and back off, or it's ridiculous.. also when I shift slowly, something (Clanks) in the shifting.. .. someone please advise...

Yea verily, thine clutch is preparing to depart this mortal coil.

Pelican does have about the best deal around for a clutch - the whole shebang for about $700 - includes just about everything you would need.

One thing to add though - change out your flywheel seal while you are in there.

O.K... good advice.. thank you. I'm going to have the Timing belt waterpump.. pulleys etc.. done.. should I do the clutch done then?.. also, when I have the belts done will I notice an improvement in the performance, or will it be similar to how it is now?.. just curious...

Just pulled mine out......and yes...hockey puck (86' NA)

Not bad for a clutch with 240,000 km (~150,000 miles)

Mine was vibrating at 4,000 as well....but also a nice grinding sound with the clutch disengaged (throw out bearing - TOAST)

Speaking of clutches....

When my car idles high - around 2000 (sticky ISV), I can feel a slight vibration (more like a fast "thumping") in the actual clutch pedal. No vibration at regular idle speed (800 rpm). It doesn't do this all the time though.

Is this a bearing?
