British Invasion in my driveway

My wife's new ride; just picked it up about four hours ago.
She's (the car) simple, base model with the BMW 3cyl., 1.5L engine. My 84 reluctantly accepted her; I hope they play nice...

the slowest car i've ever driven was an old 2006 or so base 1.6L mini. slower than my aerostar van, my outback wagon, and even a 24' uhaul truck.

i hope yours is better!

looks great though!

It's actually a little quicker than my 84 but who's going to look better while following...

I'll deny this to my wife but you're absolutely correct. Do you know that Mini did away with the oil dipstick? Everything is computer controlled. I'm glad we sprang for the extended maintenance agreement so I don't have to worry about changing the oil, brake fluid, trans fluid for 60K miles.

My son has a 2004 Cooper S, it's a lot of in to drive but a PIA to work on. I seam to always need to remove an engine mount and do something creative with a ratchet strap to do the simplest task. Thankfully my BMW diagnostic reader and programmer works on it.

My wife has a Range Rover Evoque - I dare not touch that.

Being British (and Amaercian) I do like British cars but know how unreliable they can be!

I saw that on specific year 335. I wonder if BMW is doing that to everything now.

Just another way to get you in the dealership, so you can open up your wallet. Sad.....

The dealer actually informed me that, due to some new European, regulation, they frown upon opening the hood... ?????????????????????

Oh well, my wife loves the car and that's all that matters.

Also my 08 Cayman has no dipstick. Sucks.
