Drip- drip - drip - do I smell gas?
I was planning to replace that fuel line hose someday, now it looks like I better do it now or else...

Yes this line on one of my 928s disintegrated. Once gas gets on the outer hose that can turn to goo and it'll pull out of the fittings and clamps. The hose is several layers and the inner hose is gas proof, then there is a fiber sleeve, and then an outer hose that gas can slowly dissolve. A small leak is bad news as it'll compromise the hose completely.

I purchased a replacement line a few months ago just because it looked original compared to the other hose beside it. I was in no hurry to install it and never expected to actually start leaking. However I have been using the car a lot lately so something was bound to give. Surprise, surprise...

Ooooo - look under the carpet, find the fuel filler neck cover, look under there,... I did this on a late NA BTW. Removed tank, replaced all hoses etc. not trivial because NLA parts.... but that's where user BoxsterGT comes in - Len at Autosport Engineering.

His lines are pretty. I think Lart mentioned he could do some if you send him your ends.
