Shameless self promotion - SoCal 944 traveling mechanic.

Throwing this out there again, been doing this about 7 years for Rennlisters, Pelicans, and their referrals...have traveled from San Diego to San Francisco, and from west LA to Palm Springs to save 944s.

My time is more limited than in the past but I can schedule out some weekend time to fix your car.

I have all my own tools and come to your car to do the work.

Basic rate is $50/hour for work, generally I don't provide parts except as noted below...depending on distance I may ask for gas cost as well.

Timing/balance belt jobs, any year/model 944, $600 including parts.
Head gasket+belts, $1500 including parts/machining for NA. Turbo/S/S2 will cost extra due to added complexity...
Water pumps add $300, installed.

PM me if interested.

What a great business model! You should franchise this idea out here in the North East.

Wow, that's cool, and a very good rate.

I would like someone here in Colorado to just teach me those things. The 944 engine bay is so tight and packed with plumbing.

Jeez, glad you're not in my neighborhood. I'm $70 an hour, and you bring your car to me!

Are ya thinkin' about opening branch operations.........maybe somewhere like Kentucky? The best and one of last of the really good "waterpumper' mechanic has sold his garage and taken a management position of a VERY large and very expensive import car repair joint. I've had some work done on my MB there and they done fine.....but the 944 is a different issue. The only other good place in Louisville for a 944 is booked all the time with high end stuff. So...come on down the water's fine.

Do you work on 968's? I am a 911 guy and have no idea if they are the same or not...

I have a friend who just bought one and is in the LA area who needs some help with his.

Thanks!

Maybe on a Turbo, but the NA is pretty manageable. You should look under the hood of an A4...... barely enough room to get on the crank bolt to spin the engine over. Timing belt.... you gotta pull the front clip off.
