Help,,bolt fell into bell housing...

I think the 6mm bolt for the sensor accidentally fell into the sensor hole....I looked around can couldn't find it..How to get it out? I took off starter, and nothing in there,, My fear is the bolt got jamed between the sensor hold and flywheel...

Try turning the crank about 1/8 turn at a time and maybe it will come out the starter hole. I did the same thing a couple months ago and had to pull the transaxle/torque tube/bellhousing and it ended up being behind the flyhweel. Good luck.

Have ya tried......
Magnet on the end of a stick or wire?
chewing gum?
Vacuum cleaner /shop vac?
Compressed air to knock it loose?
Pressure washer?
Lightly banging on the bell housing to knock it loose?

spend some quality time making sure it isnt on the ground or hung up on or in the car before you go nuts. strong flashlight never hurts.

If you are contemplating turning the car upside down and shaking it, thats normal.

Oh, Crap! That's why I always stuff a small rag into that inspection hole before I work anywhere near that area. I would suggest picking up the car, turn it upside-down and shake it, but that's not going to happen. If you have a long handle inspection mirror and flashlight, spend some time "all around" the bell housing looking for it.

If still unsuccessful, turn the engine by hand 180 degrees and see if it fell into the bottom. Unfortunately, the chances are it fell into the open areas of the pressure plate. Once it's been turned, if it doesn't show up, try spraying a high pressure water hose up into the clutch inspection hole, the starter access, or even the top hole where it disappeared, to see if it loosens it. Water won't contaminate the clutch workings. Good luck.

BTW, when you put the sensors back in, put a little masking tape over the end of the socket and then stuff the bolt into the socket. That way it won't fall out while your inserting the bolt into sensor bracket.

Some people try to turn back their "odometers." Not me. I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.
