Rogue Tuning NA Tune

Does anyone have information on the present or future availability of the Rogue Tuning NA Tune MAF??? I have been checking the Rogue Tuning website but it has been marked "out of stock" for a long time now.

That being said, does anybody have any feedback on the Miller MAF?

Thanks.

My miller MAF runs like crud below 3K RPM, and I've never found the problem. I installed at the same time I replaced all vacuum lines, ended up putting the stock back on, and no trouble with stock.

I've had a rogue tune on order for over two years now.

My problem with the Miller, happens when the WOT switch is triggered. Something with their WOT mapping causes my engine to completely cut out and back on repeatedly. O2 sensor is replaced and test to be fine, timing sensors are fine, injectors were cleaned, fuel pressure is fine, fuel pump was replaced, but I haven't measured fuel flow rate. The voltage numbers from their MAF are what they are supposed to be. The moment the signal for WOT comes from the throttle the car goes to crap.

Thanks - Appreciate the feedback.

Over on the R-list Joshua from Rogue Tuning indicated he is working on a version that will be carried by Lindsey Racing.

Any updates? I decided to finally buy a MAF right after Rogue Tuning disappeared, and have been waiting for something to happen for a year or more...

Lindsey only carries the M-Tune for the 951.

Just fyi, emailed LR yesterday about the 944 NA-Tune, this was the quick and short response I got.

"Unfortunately, we do not have a chip for the NA at this time.

With kind regards,

Thanks guru,

Do you have any inside info on the Rogue NA-Tune? Is it going to be available again?

Rogue is super busy being a new father...
Lindsey is probably working on a new kit, but I cannot confirm that...
I was lucky to get one of the NA tune kits when they were introduced and it is great...I'm going to get ahold of Rogue and see what can be done...

Hopefully Lindsey or Rogue will continue the NA tune kit. I have been waiting on it to be back in stock but I am loosing hope. I have a feeling Lindsey isn't too interested in stocking it since its for an N/A and probably wont sell that many. I think that $500.00 for a MAF kit is probably the best value for money for any N/A 944. To get the gains that rouge got any other way would require dumping stupid amounts of money into the engine.

Does anyone else make a MAF kit for N/A that I have missed?

Miller sounds like a dud, and its seems that all other kits are for 951.

What all is involved in making a custom MAF?

You can go the standalone route if you're looking to do a custom kit. You can use a MAF or MAP based airflow calculations and generally can choose whatever hardware you want, at the expense of having to configure and tune it yourself. As far as cost, it isn't cheaper than a kit. I have about $1200 in my Megasquirt build but I did a lot more than just delete the AFM. Just a basic MAF conversion would be well under $1000, I would budget $750.

I have one in my 85.5 automatic and it takes 10 years off the age of the car. Super smooth throttle response. Super easy to install. Hope he continues to offer it.

If the NA Tune is as good as everyone has been saying it is, it seems like it would become a standard 944 mod and would sell decently well. Lindsey could probably sell more than Rogue did, and the development is done (by Rogue). Seems like a no-brainer, but then what do I know.

I can offer VEMs plug and play standalone for 944 (an all other 944 models, including 944S/s2, Turbo, 968) for ~1200 usd, that includes WBo2 onboard controller (just need optional LSU4 sensor).
You can get rid of AFM and no need for MAF either (VEMS uses MAP). And my kit comes with the tune so you can start driving (may need fine tune fuel table, easy with VEMS autotune).

You should look into Russell Berry MaxHP kits. Just google him, pretty good stuff he offers for the NA reasonable as well.

Miller kit is fine. The 944 kit uses a high quality Bosch MAF - some of the BMW kits use chinese knock off Hitachi MAF's, and that is where the problem lies. If the car cuts out on WOT, have you tried running a different grade of fuel, or is there definitely a WOT mapping issue?

I have tried every grade of fuel. They built their kit on an auto 944, I have no idea if some attempt to "shift gears" with a stepdown mode when you hit WOT is causing the problem, but its possible. Once above about 3K RPM, the problem is not apparent, that would be some form of "shift point" perhaps on an auto.

I was PM-ed by Josh and received my kit, but still waiting on crankscrapers to assemble the engine and put that car together.

Should I find extra time, I may swap the Rouge into my '86.
