89 944 N/A Issue
Hello all, new to the forums
My son and I own an 89 944 N/A. We have had it for over a year with little to no issues. We drive it weekly and have been enjoying it. Today we went for a quick ride after school. And upon starting it up. We heard a buzzing sound in the passenger side floor. (Dme location). Opening the hood the noise is much greater near passenger tire, inside wheel well. Our car is setup for the track and we have no carpets so it was noticeable as soon as we started it up Car was idling and driving fine but we couldn't figure out where this new noise was from. To add to the oddity after it was running for about 2 minutes the ABS light came on as well as the main warning light on dash (!) When we shut the car off and took out the key the noise continued. The only way I could get it to stop was to disconnect the battery. Car is mostly stock other than roll cage and seats as of now. The only main issue we have had before this is the car does not run well after a rain storm or will not start in the rain. I have not had time to check exact cause of this particular hiccup. But I was assuming DME or other electronic issues. Either way this one had me stumped...if anyone can lend some guidance I would appreciate it. |

The abs control block is mounted in the passenger fender, towards the rear from the wheel.
That's probably what you were hearing. Pull the fender liner of present and take a look, give it a jiggle and check wires etc |

Sounds good thanks for the guidance...any idea why all of a sudden it would just go haywire like that?
