That was excellent! 944 guys did pretty good. Toward the beginning in the intro, many of these cars are loud and noisy, but the 944 rolls by quietly. I froze the video at 25:55 on the race results and noticed the BMW E3 destroyed everybody! What's up with that? knocked 20 seconds off everybody in a 3-minute lap.
Great video, thanks for posting. I want to go to one of these ... in USA?

I did notice they counted down and passed finish right at "0". I also hope Jürgen chimes in.

This was a hillclimb on a closed public road course but what was amazing to an English hillclimber apart from the lack of timing struts on the front of the cars, was that competitors appeared to be allowed to carry passengers, werent compelled to wear helmets and racesuits in the closed cars and were allowed open windows(all no-nos in the UK), competitors were separated from spectators only by crowd control fencing, and that with few exceptions drivers didnt seem to be trying too hard.

Nice to see folks out having fun with some great classics! Obviously not very competitive, with an obvious range in driving skills - but appropriate for this event I think. Then again...what's with the basically unprotected audience (moms and kids, etc) looking on from the outside of that hairpin?

Some people try to turn back their "odometers." Not me. I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

I thought it was quite a diversity of manufactures and years....

Jürgen is always working on them so I thought I would post it up....

not sure if that was a 917 long but you could tell 'slow mode' wasn't something it liked to do))
