Arrow trannies and differentials

Alright guys, here's my booboo. I broke my carrier in my transmission, not a clue how I did it but I did it. My question is does anbody know where I can get a LSD for under $1000? Does anybody know anything about the 968 transmission in a 944? And does anybody know if the Audi 5000 turbo transmission will work, a guy at a junk yard told me it has the same ring gear and pinion but he didn't know if it would work. Any advice you have is appreciated.

Your speedo won't work but the tranny will fit. You'll need the shifter linkage bar and a different style plug for the reverse lights, maybe a 968 shifter too...but that's it. I've got one that needs new pinion bearings, job would cost about $1k. If you want to make an offer feel free.

Looking into it, it's not a true LSD. http://www.mx3gsr.freeservers.com/pg.htm This guy installed it and has a very good evaluation of what it is and what it does. It doesn't seem like it provides a lot of locking torque.

OK, so what I said was an understatement.

There's always a reason why inexpensive things are inexpensive. Quaife offers a nice torque-sensing differential, but it's not cheap. On the other hand, the Quaife Diff will actually work properly.
