coolant fluid on the clutch

Found a leaking heater shutoff valve behind the engine on my 951. I also noticed some of the fluid on top of the bell housing. It wasn't there long when I shut the motor down but I'm concerned that some of it went down the rabbit hole into the clutch area. Anyone have any info on what the effects are on the clutch, even if there's just a little that got onto the clutch disc? Can it be washed out with Alcohol or anything else short of pulling the clutch?

Some people try to turn back their "odometers." Not me. I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

Relax, don't worry, if it wasn't soaked (and it wasn't), your first few shifts will dry it out.

Thanks for that input. Engine is torn down, again, and the heater valve is removed. Waiting for the necessary parts to come in. I've had this thing apart so many times I actually getting pretty good at it.

happened to me when replacing the clutch. in process of putting stuff back together. although I tried to get all the coolant out when I disconnected the HCV. when trying to reconnect some fluid burped out and straight down the rabbit hole.

fortunately it happened before I reconnected the TT.

pulled it out and sure enough a bit of coolant on the NEW disc. SPEC replaced it for me for $100.

in your situation not sure I would worry. if it affects the clutch over time you can wait and do that when needed.

and to reduce the chance of such a future event... a little alum duct tape.
