If i was to put an intake on my 944 I would probably fabricate my own. The slection of aftermarket intakes is quite limited and in my opinion most are overpriced for what you get

Use the one thats on the car. Just get the intakes matched to the head or visavera.

When was the last time you changed your timing and balance belts and/or cam chain and tensioner?

I thought that he meant air box intake as opposed to intake manifold SoCal, but maybe I am wrong.

K&Ns are great; you won't get substantial horsepower from any air intake on a 944, if that's what you're wondering, but the K&N just "feels" right, it feels sportier and sounds great.

Since I've been wrenching "intake" means everything from the throttle valve to the engine. In carb cars it includes everything from the choke valve to the engine.

"Air cleaner" means everything from the throttle/choke valve the other way -- mostly.

Velocity stacks are somewhere in between.
