Throttle Response Cam
I know pretty much everyone already knows this, but for the benefit of the new folks:
I installed the throttle response cam on my car today. Took less than five minutes. What a difference! The car isn't faster (of course), but it FEELS faster and much more responsive! My car is totally stock, no offset cam key, etc. For anyone considering this mod, it's my dream mod - cheap, easy to install, easily reversible and you can FEEL a difference!

I bought an 85.5 944 a few years back and was OK with the performance, but thought the car performed rather flat and seemed to have a hesitation when accelerating. My fisrt step was to tune the car up, which helped a bit, but the car really came to life with the throttle response cam. What truly made a profound difference in my car was the addition of a (no longer available ?) Wilks race chip with 6500 rpm rev limiter. This car now pulls smoothly and flawlessly to redline in 4 gears (about 110 mph) and would probably keep going in 5th gear if I let it.
WOW, this is the way it should have come from the factory. |

Yeah. I put one on mine many moons ago. The response is a LOT better and immediately noticeable.

Definitely worth it. Takes some getting used to, but it's a nice improvement. Next time you do a timing belt, though, put in an offset cam key too- I've done both together and it's an order of magnitude improvement over stock!
