Recognise this seat?

Anyone recognise this seat from late 85 944NA ... pinstripe material looks to be possibly standard but I've not seen any before with mix of vinyl squab and cloth backs. Trying to help a guy out by tracing down a decent right hand seat but I won't have much luck if they were not stock

My guess is that it's a mixed-and-matched pair of vinyl lowers with cloth insert uppers. Both pieces appear stock, but I'm not aware that there were any cloth insert seats with full vinyl bottoms.

Maybe .... Seems like quite a lot of trouble ... and the rears are the same.

Are there any decent recovering vinyl kits out there?

The pinstripe material as an insert is an option, however it would have continued onto the base portion.

I would guess that, since the pinstripe cloth wears very easily, once the bottom portion wore out it was recovered in vinyl.

It's not uncommon to see cloth seats with some sections upholstered in vinyl - many of the Porsche cloths are fragile and hard to find (to send to an upholstery shop). So an easier solution is to just reupholster the offending section in vinyl.

The rears also have a pinstripe back but vinyl bottom? That is weird. Either had frequent rear passengers (unlikely), or reupholstered them to match.
