what does a 968 tranny run?

I think it would pretty awesome to have a 968 6 speed tranny in a 944. I have seen 944's for sale with a 968 tranny so i know its possible, it must be a direct bolt up, am i correct? What would one of these cost if you could even get your hands on one? Thanks

John

I have been told that yoru speed-o will not work (though I am curious to if you could make it work). I've also been told it requires shift linkage and maybe a new shifter (but correct me if I'm wrong). Yeah, when I blew my tranny I wanted one too, but I'm el pooro and I can't afford one.

You need the 968 torque tube, and the tranny to complete the conversion. Later 944's can be adapted to the speedo just fine. There is a guy in the RMR PCA that has done the conversion. He has the six speed LSD version in his 88 951.

PorscheG96 (I think it's him, not 100% though) has a 968 tranny that needs something, but I forget what it is. He was thinking about getting rid of it, he said to make him an offer.
