clicking

I get a clicking from the passenger footwell...is that the cabin temperature sensor, or maybe the DME?

It's possible that the cruise control motor (forward of the battery) could be cycling. Pull the plug on it to see if it stops.

Some people try to turn back their "odometers." Not me. I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

I get the clicking down by the passenger footwell also, it clicks repeatedly sometimes 15-20x's.

Is this the same issue? To disable it, just unplug the cruise control module under the hood as mytrpl has mentioned, correct?

Yep.. That's all there is to it.. When mine was doing it, it took me a while to locate it. Being right there on the wheel hump in front of the battery, the sound would carry downward and make it sound like it was coming from inside the car. One day, I was working on it, doing and oil change or something. I got in to fire the car up and had the hood up. It started that clicking crap when I was standing right over next to it. Ah HA!!!! I FOUND YOU, YOU LITTLE CLICKING BASTARD!!!!! Unplugged it. I'll need a new control module as I think it is what is making it do the clicking thing.

Could it be the atmospheric pressure sensor that is with the DME? I believe it just riches the mixture above 5,000ft.

It is more than likely the solenoids for the automatic climate control. Move the temperature knob a little off full cold or full hot and see if it stops or gets worse.

I'll check that out. Right now the knob is full cold since we've had 28C weather here. Thank you sir!

No cruise control? I thought that was standard equipment on almost all later 944's.. Hope you get it sorted out.

Hmmm...did the heater clip repair, and no more clicking.

I wonder if the auto climate control solonoid was confused since the knob was off, yet the flapper door was in the full heat (fail) position?
