Unusual Transmission Code Early 944 - MB 06100
I pulled a transmission from an early 944 just now and the code isn't what I expected. Never seen a code like this before.
MB 06100 Has anyone seen a code like that?

Just kidding about that price...
Nope nothing special that I can tell. Open diff, no coolers. Just a normal early transmission.

Type MB doesn't show up in any of my 944 or 924 documentation. It appears to be a gearbox made in 1980, from the 06100 code. Can you share a picture or two of the whole gearbox?

I believe that code "MB" was a Porsche 924 turbo transmission 016G for the model years 1981 & 1982.
This is per the Porsche technical specifications for the 1978-1985 924 models. Last edited by Pauld_94S2; 06-25-2016 at 06:29 PM.. |

I have one of those as a spare , it's from a 924 and i think it has a short fifth ...
Maybe Dimi will chime in, he knows those transmissions very well !

Thanks Pauld and Wildcat, you're right. I looked that up and looks like a 924 Turbo Transmission. Didn't even occur to me that they would be interchangeable like that.
