coolant flush

Is there a safe Coolant flush that you can use for the 85 944? like prestone cooling system flush?

BUT---flush varies. I use half a can of Prestone HD flush--half.

If you flush with an entire can you will cause leaks at hose connections and other hidden areas.

The radiator has a rubber pressed seam.

Another option is to take the radiator to a professional radiator shop for backflushing instead of chemical flushing that could weaken your gaskets.

Check the yellow pages. There is an old time one here that took my 944 automatic radiator, back flushed it with soda water and then recrimped the tanks. This removed deposits form the capillary tubes. Car ran cooler for sure.
