Crank Scrapers

I have attended 2 DE's in the past several months with my stock 83 944 NA. The car has held up well and I would like to keep it that way. To that end - I need to make some mods try to prevent the dreaded #2 rod bearing failure. I'm already running Valvoline 20w-50 synthetic racing oil. I plan to install the Lindsey baffle and add a crank scraper.

My question is regarding crank scrapers. I understand that the later models oil pan have a basic crank scraper built in. The next step up would be the Ishihara-Johnson metal scraper. The top dog should be the Ishihara-Johnson teflon scraper. Is there any benefit to be gained by combining the S2 oil pan and a teflon scraper? Or is that just overkill?

Each of those crank scrapers (i.e. OEM and aftermarket) are installed and work in different ways thus you can use them together. All 944 after 87 or 88 got the updated oil buffle pan inserts.

I have personal experience with all of the products you mention, including the top dog I-J Teflon scraper/windage tray

The ideal way to go is with a additional trap door baffle, the 968 oil pan insert (I don't know if this came on S2's)

OIL PAN INSERT 944T / 944S2 / 968 (#18) at LINDSEY RACING - Your Porsche Performance Parts Center

and personally I would just go with the Teflon crank scraper. I noticed 1 bar higher oil pressure across the entire operating range (temp wise) on my 944 Turbo with it. Amazing and well worth it. Stops/prevents oil foaming due to it sloshing up into the crank, that is why you get more pressure.
