Help. Sunroof

I am trying to close sunroof on my 88 924s. Problem is only 1 of the rear clips grabs & the other one doesn't.

They both operate up and down with the button but the pass side one isn't grabbing the roof piece.

How do I fix that? Thanks.

take it apart and look at the plastic gears. You probably need to replace them.

Thanks I hope it doesn't come to that. It is so darn close to catching. I once took apart a sunroof on an '85 Mercedes300D and never got it back together all the way, * and that was with the mercedesource manual.

I just saw your Ebay listing and looks like you may be helpful as I have this 88 924S put back together. I believe I will need a few odds n ends.

It's not difficult to replace the plastic gears, located at the roof (they drive the levers). Once you have done that adjust the motor clutch, located at the wheel well, so the gears will not strip again Clark's Garage has all this information.
We've all been there. Once you get it working perfectly, close it and never touch again. That way you will have the satisfaction of having fixed it and you will avoid the frustration of having to fix it again!!
