People that replaced their motor mounts

For all the guys that have done this, is it a nice change when finished. Should it get rid of rough shaky starts when im not on the gas much taking off? How about drving, any smoother or maybe better handling? Thanks

John

It's smoother for sure, but the balance shafts being timed correctly also make a big difference (most of them aren't). If you're looking for them to last long either get solid rubber mounts (that definately don't last as long) or the updated style from Porsche...

Yes that doesn't look like a bad deal.

Was a slightly used set on the 86 I parted out. A hundred times better than the ones on the 83!!!

I had aged along with the old mounts and didn't realize that it was time to replace them till I did a side by side comparison when the engines were out.

Now the only thing that shakes is me after I realize that I just did 80 mph plus on a 270 degree highway entrance!!!

Zowwee!!!!!

When was the last time you changed your timing and balance belts and/or cam chain and tensioner?

I need to do this.. I get a few weird vibrations once in a while..and when I accelerate the shifter moves..

I used to have a ..1973 Chevy Kingswood estate station wagon.. it was a friggin monster of a car.. 427, very fast and quick. I destroyed 5 driverside motor mounts in 2 months... (of course I drove like a lunatic in it) and I never washed it.. it was a ....sleeper..... it was gold with wood tone on the sides.
