Heater core

Looks like my heater core sprung a leak. Got some drops on the housing under the glovebox. Any ideas about the fix? I've not been able to locate one. Can they be repaired by a radiator shop? How many variations of this core are there. Dont want to pull it to match it up. I still drive it year round, 10 mi a day. It's fun in the winter lol. Any suggestions.
By the way my last issue with hesitation was the coil wire. Thank you

What year car?
Either way one of our several 944 parts folks should be able to help you out.
A leaking heater core in a 944 is a *very* rare occurrence...so a good used part should do you just fine.

I remember reading something on Clark's about heater cores. Something to the effect of that the heater core was suspended in the air and the car was built around it. That they are very difficult to remove. And that stop leak might be a better idea

It an 87 S. So I've been thinking about this and no one even lists the heater core in St. Louis. I can believe it's a part that never left the shelves. I wouldn't stock it either. Another thing is I don't smell or see antifreeze on the inside of windshield. The mix is good to -20 so it's not too diluted to be detected. The green drops I see are on one of the flex tubes( I believe it goes to the glove box) could the problem be in the way I saw the hoses are attached with "clips". I'm starting to think the leak is not in the air path. I'm gonna just have to tear it down this wknd and look.

The leak could be from a loose hose clamp on the outside and it's praying in and dripping down on the inside

The heater core is pretty easy to change. You just have to remove the glove box and some air ducts. There's a DIY on RL 968 forum.
