Heater control valve hose blew

I'm assuming the right part is #14 in the diagram. My hose doesn't look like it bends quite as much but could just be old age. http://944online.com/index.php/water-cooling-system-28/early-944-cooling-system-diagram.html

Drove the car maybe about 7 miles before noticing like anything was wrong. With it being dark and raining it was hard to tell if it was rain water being kicked up out the back. Gauges were all within normal operating temps until I got off the highway and had to stop. Noticed there was steam coming from under the hood and the engine temp started to rise. Was able to get the car in a parking lot and got a tow.

Temp gauge got just above normal operating temp before I shut off the engine.

Coolant was everywhere and I know it got into the peek hole in the bell housing since I noticed my clutch not feeling normal and shuttered once while disengaging before parking it.

Now I'm a little worried I may have damaged the head with possibly no coolant flowing through it or having to replace the clutch now.

If it was running fine when you shut it off, it's probably fine. I wouldn't worry too much about the coolant touching the clutch. It probably evaporated as fast as it went it. Replace the hose and coolant. Fire it up and drive it. If all seems well, you're fine.

FYI, that is not a factory piece, which might have contributed to the failure.

It's stamped with 944 572 38... I'm assuming it is the right one since the one from 944online is 944 572 385 01
