What is this bracket and connector?
1987 944S. I'm chasing a cabin heat issue and in the process I removed the glove box. I think this is unrelated to heat but behind glove box I found an empty bracket and a nearby unconnected four pole connector. Any help with identification is appreciated. Everything else in the car seems to work normally. Thanks. The pic should be rotated 90 degrees clockwise.

I would guess the connector is not factory. I think the bracket is to support the back of the radio.

That bracket holds the glove box up at the firewall end. That connector is factory but I'm not sure what it goes to. Since the Air Bag controller mounts just above the glove box, it could be related to that system.

glove box bracket...doh! Thanks for the input, I was pretty tired when I posted.
The connector I believe to be factory, as you say, and was probably for the air bag option which I don't have. Thank you for the replies. I appreciate it. |
