Idle control on modified engines

My modified engine flows significantly more air through the system: 924s ported: head; manifold; afm; +1 race inlets; airbox delete etc. The idle control operation does not signficantly alter the mixture enough to ensure a smooth and fast enough idle, how can I re-rout the lines to counter the increased air flow effects, any thoughts? Im wondering if a tee from the intake to the idle control then going to both ends of the manifold will have the desired effect...http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1483929576.jpg

the idle adjustment on the AFM is only for tuning idle mixture for emissions, not to adjust it significantly to change idle speed/quality.

you should adjust the idle screw (Left side of throttle body) or even crack the throttle stop screw a little bit to make it idle to your taste.

that said...even with the hottest head in the world, breathing through that AFM is not going to be "significantly more than stock".

the problem is likely the restriction in the intake. start by getting rid of that accordion hose. those things are horrible. they create turbulence and restriction like crazy. after that, get rid of the 270 degree bend. you are losing about 10% of your flow capability right there.

buy a manometer and use it for testing the flow
