idle air control valve help / cleaning / operation
Ok, I just picked up another idle air control valve before swapping mine out.
It was completely black and a little gunked up inside. Cleaned with some carb cleaner and Q tips until sparkling. Little silicone WD40 squirt and hooked it up to a 9v battery. I definitely opens and closes smoothly now. Here is my question... With the valve close, if I blow in the one side. I would say its 99.5% blocked. I can feel the slightest of air coming out the other side. If I close the valve and spray some carb cleaner in there NOTHING drips out. Again, blow in, and can feel a little air Is this normal ? |

Is this to fix the stumbling issue on the new engine 944 you just installed on this thread?
Buy the associated hoses and clamps while replacing the ISV, replace your vacuum lines with silicone 4mm lines for $12 shipped via ebay, and replace the AOS o-rings too while ordering any other parts, $6 for the upper and lower to save on shipping charges. Cheap insurance for while you are in there, do it once and done. 86 N/A rough idle / loss of power / stalling / red light NEWBIE help |
