924s interior into 83 944

Will the interior from an 87 924s work in an 83 944.

Specifically the heater control valves/center consoles, seats, carpets including trunk?

Yes, the 924S interior will work in the 83 944.

The two cars are pretty much the same other than bodywork.

Sounds like a pretty fun project....Transmission swap, interior swap, and then all the other items that you find along the way.

Does the donor car have a power sunroof? If so, the rear deck carpet/mat is slightly different on the driver's side where the sunroof motor lives.

No the donor doesn't have a power roof.

The 944 has new timing belt,waterpump, ball joints, rebuilt calipers, new pads and rotors but no interior and grinds in second gear.

The 924s has been parked for a year because it needed a clutch [so the trans is in the trunk]..... However other then the cracked dash has a very clean interior with script seats.

I am starting to feel about about parting a car that just needed a clutch, so might bail on the idea even though everything is right there.

Consider installing a used clutch assembly if you need to save some bucks and still save that 924S. We have nice ones in the shop with great spring centered discs that are almost NEW thickness. Taken from wrecked cars. PM me with what you need. If the tranny's out, you're halfway done!

BTW, the carpeting will be different at the hood release handle area, and the shifter area where the sunroof switch is.
Maybe run the 924S tranny in the 83 944 until you get the clutch done on the 924S? It's a direct swap. The 924S has a short 5th gear. Check the top of the tranny bell housing for the "QK" stamped code.
