rear seats...i don't have any

So the 83 944 I bought was about to be turned into a track car by PO.

And while i want to delete everything in the car from AC to the radio the car came with no back seat. I would like to be able to throw my 7 year old in the back for our one mile commute to his school.

1st question----will the back seat from any model year 944 work?

2nd question---is a 3 point belt an easy or possible swap?

3 point will require quite a bit of work to put in, at least for the OEM.

You would do better to look for an aftermarket type that doesn't have the retractor.

Someone posted on here a few years ago about this.

Keep in mind that 3 point rear belts were only available on 88+ 944's, and have special pieces welded into the rear of the car, plus unique rear carpets.

Where are you located? I have some back seats if you're interested. Have both top and bottom's.

Yup, if you go with a non-inertial 3-point belt, it's actually a super-easy install. The upper mounting point is present even in the early 944s (my 84 has them)- there's just a plastic screw in the middle of the pillar. Pull that screw, and screw in the upper mount for your aftermarket belt.

The inertial-style is all-but-prohibitively involved- you'd need anchor points welded into the trunk area, different carpet, etc. For what you're describing, I'd absolutely stick w/ the non-inertial.

I have a burgundy leather rear seat, with the 3 point rear seat belts. Comes with matching luggage cover, but does not retract.

Also have a Black vinyl rear seat. Does not have the rear carpet or luggage cover
